Real life. Real choices. Real accountability. Honest guidance.

Founder, Making Life Add Up™

Hi, I’m Shanetra Fowler, founder of Making Life Add Up™. I created Making Life Add Up because young people are already navigating real decisions, relationships, consequences, pressure, goals, setbacks, and questions about what comes next. They deserve guidance that is honest, practical, respectful, and actually useful in real life.

My professional background has included work with youth, families, behavioral health, juvenile justice, residential settings, psychiatric hospitals, and community-based services. Across those settings, one thing has stayed consistent: young people do better when they have trusted adults, practical skills, healthy accountability, and opportunities to build something meaningful.

Making Life Add Up is about helping young people—and the people who support them—connect choices with consequences, relationships with responsibility, and setbacks with the possibility of a better next step. I believe every young person deserves the opportunity to build a meaningful life, no matter where they start.

This is education and coaching, not therapy. If you’re looking for clinical counseling or mental health treatment, that’s offered separately through RS&D Counseling & Consulting.

Got Something on Your Mind?

Questions about Making Life Add Up, a workshop, a partnership, or just something you’re trying to figure out—send it our way. No big crisis required.

Where We’re Going

We believe young people deserve more than crisis intervention. They deserve practical skills, healthy relationships, accountability, real opportunities, trusted adults, and environments that help them build lives they’re proud of.

Right now, that looks like education, workshops, and coaching. Over time, our goal is to build stronger pathways—from education and prevention into community programming, and eventually into residential and transitional support for young people who need extra stability on their way to independence. That’s the direction we’re building toward, not a service available today.
